Children's birthday party experiences at KidZcity
Mees’s 9th Birthday Party
Mees was on the hunt for a cool location for his 9th birthday party, full of action and adventure. It was tough to make a decision because he wanted to do it all! From laser tag to the indoor playground, a treasure hunt through Utrecht, or a mega game of hide and seek... When Mees’s parents (with Mees) found information about a laser tag kids party at KidZcity, everything fell into place. “You can do everything here at once!” Mees exclaimed enthusiastically.
So, they booked for 8 children and 2 parents. During the birthday party, we visited the decorated table where Mees was being serenaded with a birthday song. “How’s the party going?” we asked. “This is my best party ever!” Mees declared right away. “We’ve already played three games of laser tag! And the bumper cars are really cool, we get to drive them ourselves!” They planned to explore the other attractions after finishing off the fries and homemade cake they brought along.
Nora’s 7th Birthday Party at KidZcity
Nora had been to KidZcity before with her brother and grandparents, and when her parents asked where she wanted to celebrate her birthday party, she was clear: at KidZcity! With six friends and of course her brother, they arrived. A big birthday cake and bags full of presents in tow. It’s immediately clear, a children’s party is happening here!
Halfway through the party, while the party guests enjoy their fries, we ask them some questions. “We deliberately chose Wednesday afternoon, it might be a bit busier but that means we have even more time in KidZcity,” Nora’s mum explains. And does everyone like the party? “YES!!” they all shout in unison. “There’s so much to do! We’ve shot each other with soft balls, climbed really high, and there are so many fun slides,” says one of the kids enthusiastically. “Yes, especially the big family slide is fun!” Another adds, “And what’s also great is that we ALL got a little surprise with our meals from KidZcity, but only Nora is having a birthday!”
Marjolein (Mother of Mila, 6 years old)
Marjolein arrives with her partner. Behind them, nine bouncing children follow. Mila’s cousins, the neighbour boy, and friends from school joined her to celebrate her birthday. As they leave, when the kids are all played out, we ask Marjolein if we can ask her a few questions while the kids put their shoes back on.
“Thanks for the tip on your website!” Marjolein begins. “We specifically came on Tuesday, even though Mila’s birthday was on Monday, to avoid the crowds. And it worked out well. We were always able to keep an eye on the children. And it’s also nice that we can drop everyone off at home later. The whole party wasn’t at our house; we brought them straight here. That way, we have the evening free and don’t have to clean up the party mess of these nine,” she adds with a laugh.
When asked which attraction was the most fun, there’s a slight discussion. “The castle!” “The climbing maze!” “The bumper cars!” “The balloons!” they all say at once. “Well, we haven’t decided on that yet,” Marjolein says with a smile, “but the family slide was also fun with everyone, right?” “YES!! Can’t we do it one more time?”
Finally, we ask Marjolein if she would recommend a children’s party at KidZcity. “Absolutely,” she says immediately. “It’s so nice how you organise everything here. And that we can bring our own cake and decorations. But also that all the children get a small surprise. You could see all their faces light up when they got something too. I expect we’ll be celebrating a birthday here again. Up to 11 years old, right? We still have some time!”
